Inditex

Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers and the parent company behind Zara, needed a one-of-a-kind, creative recruitment experience to attract emerging fashion-industry talent. Together we designed Show Us Your Talent.

Video showing a modern, illuminated outdoor advertising structure at night. The structure is glowing with a blue light and appears to be made of translucent material, allowing the light to diffuse softly. It stands on a sidewalk with buildings in the background under a dark sky, suggesting it is placed in an urban setting. The advertisement or information on the structure is not clearly visible due to the angle and lighting conditions.

Kicking off the collaboration, our team interviewed internal stakeholders at Inditex to understand their vision and priorities. By sketching and envisioning various opportunities together, we redefined the recruitment process from the ground up.

But what about the potential recruits themselves? From co-creation workshops we learnt that millennials widely prefer designing with traditional, tactile materials, and look for multi-sensory experiences. Digital experiences certainly play a role in the creative process, but are most effective when they are enhanced by a captivating physical space.

A digital screen embedded in a white countertop displays an image with stylized graphics of a person’s face and the text ‘suyt’ in lowercase letters. To the right of the screen, there is a black stylus resting in a holder. The background features a translucent window shade, diffusing natural light into the room.
A person’s hand holding a stylus, interacting with a digital graphics tablet. The screen displays a colorful graphic or design, possibly an audio waveform or abstract art, with a palette of colors to the side for selection. The tablet is on a white surface and there is a soft glow of light at the top of the image, suggesting an indoor setting with natural light coming in.

The result of our collaboration is SUYT (Show Us Your Talent), an immersive and unique 360° experience to pique the curiosity of talented designers, interested in working in new ways. A pod of enclosed booths, each fitted with an interactive tablet and pen, SUYT encourages fashion designers to get their creative juices flowing during the hands-on part of the recruitment process. Applicants can create their own atmosphere, choosing everything from colors, to lighting, to music, so they feel inspired and confident – as if they were working in their own studio.

A collection of business cards spread out in a dynamic, overlapping arrangement. Each card features different designs, including abstract graphics, illustrations of people, and various text layouts. The color palette varies from card to card with some having vibrant colors and others more muted tones.

The SUYT pilot toured through Barcelona, Milan, London and Paris throughout 2017, creating a buzz of organic news and social media attention that boosted brand awareness. Moreover, candidates were better prepared and better qualified than in the past.
