In 2009 Designit continued its international expansion by establishing a presence in Shanghai. Strategically located in Asia’s most powerful business hub, this presence is expected to strengthen our position in the region and globally.
Having grown from a small fishing town to the flagship of China’s modern economy, Shanghai demands attention from businesses around the world. As China’s most important cultural, commercial and industrial centre, Shanghai will host the World Expo 2010 and hosts the Shanghai Design Biennial.
Designit Shanghai is located in the Xuhui District on the left bank of the Huangpu River in the city’s commercial centre. It is from here that we hope to serve Asian businesses as a leading provider of pan-European market knowledge and Scandinavian user-driven design.
On the eastern bank of the Huangpu River is China’s Manhattan - a forest of skyscrapers all built in the last ten years. The 468-metre high Oriental Pearl Tower can be found here. You can see how designers and architects visualise the city’s future skyline at the Shanghai Urban Planning Centre, while a visit to the MOCA Shanghai will reveal some of contemporary China’s most innovative art and cutting-edge design.
