Designit has shaped a user-friendly and engaging new site for the Region of Southern Denmark’s campaign “Lys i vinduerne” (Lights in the windows). The web site brings together the entire region by giving the citizens a place to exchange ideas and let their opinions be heard.
As the cornerstone of their campaign, the Region of Southern Denmark wanted to be in touch with public opinion on what to do with the soon to be ex-hospital buildings in the region. A situation that stems from the government’s much disputed decision to close several large regional hospitals and turn the remaining ones in to so-called super hospitals while also building new ones.
With user involvement in mind, Designit created their campaign website in to a virtual venue of ideas .The site is filled with relevant information for both the public, architects and possible investors.
It also acts as a speaking tube allowing people to post ideas and further interact by voting each other’s suggestions up or down. Thereby, the involved parties gain insights in how to secure that the old buildings and the areas surrounding them can continue to be prosperous for the future.
The Region of Southern Denmark consists of Funen, Ribe and Southern Jutland and is one of Denmark’s five regions with approx. 1.2m. inhabitants. It is very forthcoming to its public and also known as “the citizens region”.
