Jyske Bank Mobile Banking App

In September of 2010, Jyske Bank came to Designit to ask for help in co-creating a Jyske Bank mobile banking app.

We have a long professional history with Jyske Bank, so when they came to us for advice regarding strategy, usability, design and innovation for the Jyske Bank mobile banking app, it represented an obvious extension of our collaboration - and a very exciting one at that.

The scope was to create a mobile banking app that took full advantage of the native mobile possibilities instead of just converting existing online banking. We wanted to create a mobile banking app that made sense to people who are on the move. Jyske Bank wanted the app to be a full-blown extension of their brand and physical image. They wanted to focus on usability, friendly design, and to stand out from other mobile banking apps.

The process was divided in to sections, starting with a great deal of research, ideation, and design. The design was then tested to cover as many scenarios as possible. Before the final testing, we worked in close iterative collaboration with the programmers making the mobile banking app to ensure the process was kept smooth and dynamic.

The result of our collaboration was a great team spirit, superb design, graphics and icons, and a smooth running mobile banking app. The app hit the App Store and Android Market on March 1st and just 24 hours later, it was number 4 on the free download chart! Phase two of the project, bringing in more features, will soon be getting underway, and will no doubt boost this mobile banking app even further.
