Interactive lighting concept

Designit is involved in an interactive lighting project, BeyondLight, which will be presented at a seminar in Risør, Norway on June 10.

Together with interior architect Linda Evensen, Designit developed a new interactive lighting concept for cafés and restaurants where everyone go. The strength of the concept is that the lighting can be adjusted to each person’s individual need. This especially benefits people with decreased visual acuity.

User needs vary. Obviously, this also goes for lighting needs. Statistically, 60-year-olds need 2,5 times as much lighting as 20-year-olds to get the same experience, which is one of the reasons for developing the lighting concept.

The concept is one of seven projects involved in BeyondLight, and will be presented at BeyondRisør, the design exhibition well attended each year by Norway’s design industry.
