The aim of the seminar is to cover what design is, what it isn’t, when to use it and why. It will highlight in its proper context the power of design - but not put design on a pedestal as the wonder solution to the many challenges of innovation.
At the heart of the Technology Strategy Board’s vision for UK economic growth is accelerating the journey from concept to commercialisation. Design has an important role to play in innovation, and it is for that reason the board are encouraging the technology and design communities to work together more closely.
The Innovate 11 Seminar on Tuesday October 11th will lay out and discuss the role of design in technology-related innovation. Experienced industry leaders will share their experience of using design; Jim Dawton, from Designit London and Lead Specialist - Design at the Technology Strategy Board will give a presentation on the role of design, describe the pilot Design Option scheme and facilitate an interactive discussion with attendees.
