Jim Dawton from Designit will be talking current and future product design trends at an Intellect EMD Forum meeting on December 7th, giving an overview of the market in the UK, how designers operate, what they need to know, and answering any questions related to design trends.
Intellect is the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries. Collectively, the 800 members represent 10% of UK GDP & 15% of overseas trade. Intellect’s electronics programme focuses on building relationships between key industry specialists and colleagues from the technology sector.
Companies that usually attend include contract manufacturers such as Jabil Circuit, Plexus, TT Electronics, Stadium Electronics and PCB makers such as Invotec, Graphic plc, etc., whose expertise lies in manufacturability of products as well as engineering design services (for manufacturing, purchase, quality, etc.).
Jim will be the last speaker of the day, and will be there to give an overview on current and future trends in product design (where technology/electronics is involved) so attendees can gain expert insight into;
- The product design market in the UK
- How designers operate/think (what sells and what’s a no no)
- What designers need to know from engineers/manufacturers
The day starts at 1.30pm, and runs through until 4.20pm. You can read more about it in Intellect’s Electronic Manufacturing and Design Forum.
