Designit was asked to join a panel session to debate the ‘Changing Models for Intellectual Property’ at the Medical Innovation 2010 conference at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
Jim Dawton, Partner at Designit London, joined with experts from the worlds of academia, business, industry, government, and UK’s NHS to explore new attitudes to intellectual property. These are necessary to move healthcare delivery forward globally in an increasingly austere economic climate.
The general consensus of the debate was that we must begin to think differently about where the real value of healthcare innovation lies. Speed to market, cost savings in service delivery, and value and quality of brand were all factors that emerged as key drivers for a way ahead. At Designit we believe design lies at the heart of all of these.
Designit is experienced in the field of healthcare innovation and previous projects include designing service innovation at Odense University Hospital.
