With a new government in the UK, and with a crisis in national debt, Designit was invited by the Henley Business School to speak the Healthcare Special Interest Group on whether innovation in healthcare could save the National Health Service (NHS) £20bn.
In his opening address, Jim Dawton (left), Partner at Designit London expounded the need for a holistic, consumer-driven approach to healthcare. In line with the coalition government’s ‘big society’ initiative, he set out the case for bottom-up innovation – one where real value and trust are nurtured through putting design at the heart of both business government strategies.
Jim was followed by Andrew Rudd, former Chief Operating Officer of the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (one of the largest procurement organisation in the UK public sector) and Daniel Jones, Public Affairs Officer for the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI).
