Designit set up office in Munich in 2006. The office's growing client portfolio reflects the city’s innovative design scene and booming high-tech industry.
Munich is a city famed for its car manufacturing. Years of innovation have crafted the city into a global centre for cutting-edge automotive technology. But it’s not just the automotive industry that has given the city its reputation as “Germany’s Silicon Valley” – the Bavarian capital is popular amongst investors from a vast range of industries, making Munich home to the head offices of more international corporations than any other German city.
Designit Munich is located in Obersendling, an area of Munich appreciated for its close proximity to the Isar, the city’s famous river. In recent years, large investment has been pumped into the area, turning it into a favoured location for businesses, particularly within the design world.
For an overview of German design, visit Pinakothek der Moderne, a major museum of 20th century applied art, containing the world’s largest collection of industrial design. Also worth a visit are the Maximilianstrasse for exclusive designer fashion and LENBACH, a restaurant and bar designed by Terence Conran, which has come to be one of the city’s ultra-hip hangouts. And if this leaves you thirsty, then take a stroll round the English Garden, a huge park where you can enjoy a drink in one (or both!) of two beer gardens.
