Founded in 2001, dnx combines professionals coming from different fields such as humanities, technology and creativity. During the early years, the main focus was research into and design of online user-experience. Through studying how people use and interact with technology, our teams design interfaces that improve users’ browsing experience.
As we developed our methodologies and new tools, we realised that the knowledge and experience gained by our company has value which reaches beyond the field of Interaction Design, in which dnx had become an expert.
Our work with people and the way in which we transform research findings into design, has a lot to do with a movement in the field of innovation called Human Centered Innovation.
In 2006 we started to train the company on how to incorporate and deal with this new challenge. Through our alliance with BAC (Basadur Applied Creativity), we added and refined the knowledge and tools required in order to apply our experience in technological interfaces to design and production of new products and services for our clients.
What we do
We help other companies to think about and solve problems that can be dealt with from the design and innovation perspective. By combining three different knowledge areas we guide our clients through a process that looks for;
a) Identification of intervention opportunities (research) from a deep understanding of all the people involved in the project – both users and working teams. Listening, observing and understanding, learning to be surprised by everyday things – these are the foundations of our projects.
b) Generation of the best ideas (co-creation) through multidisciplinary creation techniques. Analysing the information together with the client and the users, exploring and creating all together allows us to find different ideas and perspectives.
c) Transformation of those ideas into tangible designs (design) that can be tested and launched in the market. Prototyping ideas, and making the concepts tangible and testable is the preliminary step towards a well defined and focused production.
