Designit’s Chief Visionary Officer flew to the U.S. last week to attend an invitee-only conference that brought together leading thinkers and action agents in the field of emerging markets.

Mikal Hallstrup was one of 100 attendees at ‘Creating a Shared Roadmap’, which aimed to develop a new, shared approach towards alleviating poverty through economically viable enterprise-based initiatives.

Attendees shared insights and collaboratively identified the key challenges and opportunities in the fast-developing field.

Kick-starting the dialogue were emerging market experts such as C.K. Prahalad from the University of Michigan and Stuart Hart from Cornell University.

Registration to the event, held near Detroit, was limited in order to ensure a productive and in-depth dialogue among attendees.
