Why bother with research in a design process? Designit explains why in a new book: Design – Proces og Metode.

Designit is one of seven Danish design consultancies featured in the 224-page publication, which aims to demystify the design process and methodology - providing the reader with valuable, real-life insight into the business.

The chapter on research features an interview with Mikal Hallstrup, Chief Visionary Officer, and Tine Park, Strategic Design Consultant, at Designit. They explain the value of effective research in the initial phases of the design process. It is key is to determining the success of the solution.

The book aims to simplify the sometimes complex design process, making it accessible and yet still magical.

About the author

Mette Volf studied architecture and architectural communication at the University of Architecture in Aarhus, Denmark. She has worked as a lecturer in design and architecture, created TV programmes on architecture and has worked for various design consultancies in addition to running her own. She is currently working towards a Ph. D. at the University of Architecture in Aarhus.
