In late 2008, Designit was asked by LG Electronics to create an evolutionary design theme to follow in the footsteps of their iconic Shine model. Now after one year of intensive development processes and extensive market research, the South Korean giant’s new smart phone is finally on the market.
To cement their position in the high-end segment of the Asian market, LG Electronics challenged Designit to come up with new and innovative expressions for the metal exterior of the phone. This led to the conceptual idea of a soft edged shell with asymmetric and organic details.
The smart phone is specifically targeted at avid golfers. It therefore includes maps of 280 different golf courses and, by the help of its internal GPS and compass, gives you the exact distance to the green. Thanks to both its G-Sensor and pedometer, it will even tell you the amount of calories you burned during your session.
The new LG Electronics phone - Cyon SB210 - was successfully launched in Asia in November 2009 and last month the American network giant Verizon began sales of a second version called LG Chocolate TOUCH.
