Copyright or right to copy?

10-09-2009

Is the future of copyright to abolish it?

Today Designit and other experts will attempt to provide the answer at a seminar on copyright management in the future.

Until now, most businesses have taken a protectionist approach to copyright.

But in our increasingly digital world, where everyone can copy intellectual property with the touch of a button, there is a need to re-evaluate this approach and discover new options that promote growth and innovation.

Mikal Hallstrup, Chief Visionary Officer at Designit, will discuss the unprecedented challenges that the experience economy presents for copyright protection.

Søren Sandfeld Jacobsen, lecturer from Copenhagen Business School, will ask whether copyright is a barrier to innovation and growth in the digital world.

Clement Salung Pedersen, lecturer from the Faculty of Law at Copenhagen University, will discuss the challenges involved in enforcing copyright in the digital age.

Where and when?

10.45 – 15.30, 10 September

Sørup Herregård, Sørupvej 26, 4100 Ringsted

The seminar is held by the Committee for the Protection of Academic Work.
