The future of change is co-creation. This was the message delivered at Copenhagen Co’ Creation 2009 last week – a two-day event that aimed to advance the adoption of co-creation by businesses, organisations and political systems.
Co-creation is a mindset and set of people-centric methods that is gaining global recognition for its ability to drive positive change. By designing with instead of for people, co-creation serves as a powerful innovation tool. A prolific example is Wikipedia, which pioneered user-generated content.
Designit played a central role in Copenhagen Co’ Creation 2009. Our strategists were among 35 business leaders, innovators and design thinkers from around the world who gathered to explore and share knowledge on co-creation.
The conclusions were presented the following day at the seminar ‘Designing for Change’ before an audience of some 150 top business leaders from Denmark.
Designit’s Martin Delfer hosted the seminar in his capacity as chairman of Danish Design Association. Designit’s Niels Clausen-Stuck conducted on-stage interviews with key summit figures on the value of co-creation. And Designit’s Mikal Hallstrup helped set the event’s strategic agenda as a member of the Copenhagen Co’ Creation advisory board.
By taking an active role in Copenhagen Co’ Creation, Designit hopes to raise awareness amongst decision makers about the potential of co-creation - a key tool used by Designit to drive development.
Designit regards the event – together with INDEX: and a new study programme at CIID - as key stepping stones towards positioning Denmark globally as a leading agent of change.
