We get a lot of questions about applying for positions. Questions about language, place, experience – all kinds of things. Some of these don’t really have answers. Some do.

Listed here are the simple rules of applying to Designit. They’re not hard or complicated, they’re really rather simple, but! – be very sure to stick to them. Failure to do so will result in a kitten being poked with a sharp stick. We’re not kidding.

All – and we mean all – applications must be in English

We have offices all over the world (offices you might be sent to) so our corporate language is English. We might want someone in London to have a look at your application, or just someone in our Copenhagen office who isn’t Danish to have a read through. In short – if it’s not in English, we can’t use it.

However, if you’re Danish, German, Spanish, and so on, and English isn’t your strong point - don’t be put off! You might have to speak to national press about a project you’re involved in so being able to speak Danish or German or Spanish will come in very handy, and let’s face it - an extra language or two never hurt anyone.

Show us stuff!

Link to your portfolio, or your site, your blog, or include something in your application that gives us an idea of what you can do.

Be yourself

Chemistry over competences is our motto when it comes to hiring. There’s just no use pretending to be who you think we want. We’ll figure it out sooner or later. We work closely together and we’re very social. It’s really important we’re open and honest with each other from the very first time we meet. Even if it is virtually.

Don’t contact random people

There’s only one way to apply and it’s through the job descriptions. Any applications received in any other way to anyone else will go and live ‘on a farm’.

We’ll call you

We receive a large amount of applications. Lots and lots and lots. This means that we can’t respond to each and every one with individual feedback. You will of course receive notification that your application has been received, but what happens next depends on what you applied for.

If you’ve applied for a specific position, then we’ll be sure to let you know whether you’ve sparked our curiosity or not. If you’ve applied for a speculative position, we’ll only get in touch if you’ve shown us something we really, really want.

If you have a question that isn’t answered on this page, in the job description, or can’t be answered by Google or your Mum, then, and only then, may you ask Anne, our people manager - anne.engholm@designit.com. If you do email her with job applications, you’ll only have to repeat the process after she politely tells you to follow the instructions on each job listing.
