Airel - dental chair

Safe and functional. We designed this super-lean dentist chair for Airel, a leading manufacturer of dental equipment. Combining the French company’s technical know-how and our design expertise, we developed Pacific - a chair that withstands intensive cleaning and offers ultimate ergonomics.

Our attention to technical detail means the chair and its controls are easy to clean, easy to use and comfortable – for both patient and dentist.

B&O Medicom - Helping Hand

Together with Bang & Olufsen Medicom, we created Helping Hand™, an intelligent tablet dispenser that reminds patients to take their medication.

Thanks to its unique software, the device also gives the patient feedback via a visual signal: a red, yellow or green light. The aim is to encourage patients to achieve a high compliance rate with their prescribed medication.

With its elegant and ergonomic design, Helping Hand™ has received several accolades, including the GOOD DESIGN Award 2005, iF Product Design Award 2005 and top nominee for INDEX: Award 2005.

Microsound - Microsound Pilot®

Designit Healthcare understands the need for creating devices that are discreet and offer users new opportunities. Microsound asked us to do exactly that - create a sleek design for one of the world's first digital, rechargeable personal sound devices.

Microsound Pilot® can be worn as naturally as a mobile phone headset, offering a discreet alternative to traditional hearing aids. The rechargeable function spares the cost and inconvenience of batteries. Winner of iF Design Award 2004.

Novo Nordisk - communications material for TakeAction!

We enjoy an ongoing collaboration with TakeAction!, Novo Nordisk’s employee volunteer programme.

Our brand and communications team delivers graphic design expertise to create eye-catching material that motivates, inspires and informs.

The brochures, leaflets and posters are translated and distributed worldwide, raising awareness about TakeAction! and its latest campaigns.

Novo Nordisk - FlexPen®

Worldwide more than three million people with diabetes trust FlexPen®, a pre-filled insulin pen.

It's the result of a close collaboration between Designit and Novo Nordisk. The healthcare company asked Designit to ensure FlexPen® was even more successful than its predecessor, NovoLet®, which had sold more than 250 million worldwide as the world's first pre-filled insulin pen.

We applied our healthcare expertise to improve functionality and user-friendliness. Today studies show that 82% of users and healthcare professionals prefer FlexPen® to any other insulin injection pen - testament to the product's safety and reliabilty. 

Novo Nordisk - insulin inhaler

For 12 years we collaborated closely with Novo Nordisk on an inhaled insulin device, delivering expertise in product, interactive and instructional design.

Our product designers and interactive designers collaborated to create an innovative user interface. We also created an instructional DVD – combining 3D animation and real film – to show consumers how to best use the product.

Novo Nordisk - NovoFine® packaging system

Designit delivered a contemporary and functional product brand and packaging system for NovoFine® needles - among the shortest and thinnest available for diabetes care.

Novo Nordisk - NovoPen® 4

Our integrated, strategic approach came into play when delivering a comprehensive design package for NovoPen® 4, the world’s most reliable insulin delivery device. 

Aside from the pioneering product design developed together with Steve McGugan Industrial Design, we created a brand logo and tagline to support the product’s global success. We also designed a printed user manual, an online e-manual and an interactive manual for training healthcare professionals. Finally we created a launch pack complete with 3D animation to promote the brand to staff and partners worldwide. Winner of GOOD DESIGN™ Award 2005 and red dot product design award 2007.

Novo Nordisk - product design manual

Designit created a product design manual to strengthen Novo Nordisk’s product identity. By defining and describing design guidelines, the manual ensures absolute consistency in future product development.

Today Novo Nordisk uses the document as a key briefing tool when working with external designers.

Novo Nordisk - product portal

Novo Nordisk asked Designit to create a product portal – an internal website detailing the company’s products on the market and under development.

Our user-friendly design was incorporated into Novo Nordisk’s intranet. Each product has its own mini-site, designed according to the brand identity. A clear, consistent structure enables people across the organisation to gain easy access to complex information.

Today the portal is one of Novo Nordisk’s key communication platforms for facilitating internal knowledge exchange.

Novo Nordisk and LifeScan - InDuo®

Novo Nordisk and LifeScan needed a design for their joint InDuo® device, the world’s first 2-in-1 insulin doser and blood glucose monitoring system.

To meet the tight timeline, we worked strategically. Handling all tasks simultaneously – brand name, product design, user manual and packaging design – resulted in not only vast cost and time savings, but also a punctual and powerful launch.

Radiometer - ABL800 FLEX promotion strategy

Radiometer, a world leader in blood gas analysers, asked Designit to deliver for ABL800 FLEX, a device providing fast, easy and reliable results directly at the point of care.

To determine an effective promotion strategy for the global product launch, we tested communication concepts on target users worldwide. Using VET, Designit’s own virtual evaluation tool, we interviewed Radiometer staff and health professionals who regularly use Radiometer products. The result was targeted product promotion material that could reach target users worldwide. 

Radiometer - AQT90 FLEX launch film

Radiometer asked Designit to deliver product launch communications for AQT90 FLEX, a measuring instrument in acute care testing. Given the launch's international dimension, our challenge was designing communications with global impact.

We tested communication concepts worldwide on external stakeholders using VET, Designit’s very own virtual evaluation tool. Based on this valuable insight, our Interactive team created a 3D launch film - a crucial tool in showing how AQT90 FLEX delivers improvements to patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Radiometer - tinyTeddy promotion pack

Designit created the name and promotion material for tinyTeddy, the world’s smallest and lightest sensor providing constant monitoring of tcpO2 and tcpCO2 in premature babies.

In close collaboration with Radiometer, we selected the name tinyTeddy for its symbolism and international appeal. We then created a product promotion pack that clearly conveyed tinyTeddy's benefits.

Competences


Few other sectors have such a stringent set of competitive parameters as healthcare. Safety is crucial. And new R&D developments means businesses are under constant pressure to deliver improvements - in an ever-shorter time frame.
