When asked to develop a new tabletop series that was radically different than the company’s iconic existing products, Designit helped Stelton emphasise its status as a company committed to innovation.   

Design for a new generation

When Stelton, a company whose iconic products have been a fixture in homes for more than four decades, needed a partner in the creation of a new tabletop series, they turned to Designit. Stelton envisioned a modern version of their classic cylinder series to uphold their reputation as one of Scandinavia’s most innovative and functional lifestyle brands.

Pursuing design perfection

We assembled a team of researchers and industrial designers and then laid out a strategy for identifying the key aspects of this new series, as well as the competence to realise the final vision.

Designit conducted extensive research in the existing market to define the megatrends that would guide the design process. We also focused on adding new experiences to the products – designing a pitcher to highlight and accentuate its contents, for example – to give users a heightened aesthetic experience.

The design process went through multiple stages of models and functionality tests, with every step taking us closer to just the right form and function.
